Weekly 5 is a round-up the past week’s creative news, discoveries, and happenings in my world!
Best thing that happened in my world this week:
Last weekend we took a break from the routine and went on a little adventure to Payson with our pups in tow. Earlier in the week we had been promised cooler temperatures and cloudy skies, but alas when Saturday rolled around, it was sunny and 10-15° warmer than we had hoped for. It was still a nice day. We got to play hooky from chores and errands, while our girls got to explore the woods and stroll along a stream.

Buried for Nearly 2,000 Years, a Monumental Dionysian Fresco Sees the Light of Day in Pompeii
From COLASSAL
Since excavations of the area began in 1748, discovery after discovery has revealed lavish, poignant, and complex details about what life was like nearly 2,000 years ago in the Roman port town.
When Vesuvius buried everything, the ash provided an extraordinarily protective covering for delicate frescos and structures, like an expansive fresco recently excavated in a banquet hall that “sheds light on the mysteries of Dionysus in the classical world,” says a statement from Italy’s Ministry of Culture.

Artist discovery: Lucy Chen
For me, design is a way to breathe life into the world and make our daily lives just a little bit more inspiring. My design practice is inspired by storytelling and the daily histories we encounter, from small to big narratives.
