Gel Print Journal – p. 2 (detail)

I’ve been playing with patterns over the last few days using stencils and found objects. So far I’ve come up with a background to use in a current work in progress, while other print pulls will be filed for future use in collages.

My favorite part about gel printing is that the process is fairly quick. It takes only moments to lay down a thin coat of paint, make patterns or shapes with the objects, lay down paper, then pull the print. There are unlimited options on what to do with the prints – frame/hang them, make greeting cards, collages, and the list goes on.
