Hot in the city!
This month spring came in with a breath of fresh…HEAT! Apparently we skipped spring and went straight into summer, flirting with temperatures reaching almost 110°. Due to a high pressure atmospheric river moving in from the west coast, our area got a bit toastier than normal for the time of year, we usually don’t see 110+ til around July and August. On the opposite end, those living in colder climates got an extended winter with snow storms and freezing temperatures. While sweating is not one of my favorite things, it is preferable to navigating icy roads or shoveling snow for this desert dweller!
Best thing that happened in my world this month:
On the first day of spring, my coworkers and I received spring bouquets courtesy of our management. The beautiful pastel colors cooled down the tone of the heat outside. As of yesterday, my bouquet was still looking vibrant. It has been a nice cheerful addition to my desk for the last couple of weeks!
On the Art Front
This month I joined the 2026 Collage Makers Summit and am going through the video lessons to learn various new processes and apply them in future projects. I put this little piece together in a few minutes to show how scraps of paper from current and past projects can be combined to create entirely new artwork.
