I can see clearly now!
A few days late (again) but better than never! April flew by in the blink of an eye; it’s hard to believe we’re already one-third of the way through 2026. Time keeps on slipping by faster each week. This month brought clearer vision, reorganizing one of my ventures, an interesting mix of movies, and of course music that caught my ear!
Best thing that happened in my world this month:
This month’s “best thing” is nothing exciting or interesting. However, it was necessary and a great improvement to my studio. A few weeks ago Alex and I spent a Saturday morning cleaning our home’s windows and sunscreens. It’s a chore we had been putting off for years. It was time to clean off the buildup on the glass and screens from the last several years of dust storms followed by just enough rain to muddy them up. Once the screens were off and the glass cleaned, it was like 3 suns worth of light came pouring in. Our rooms were still markedly brighter once the screens went back on. For the extremely rare occasion that my studio window’s screen was off, I gave our pups a few minutes to enjoy the crystal clear view. I don’t know if it’s my mind playing tricks on me, but I think they are going in to hang out on the window bench more often now!

On the Art Front
Most of my art time for April has been spent getting into a more consistent groove with DEEMINZ. I spent a few hours writing up a posting schedule, noting significant upcoming holidays/events, and doing other miscellaneous research to keep building up their world. Next creative goal is to create a schedule to include dedicating time for writing as well. I haven’t written poetry actively in several years, and it’s another creative outlet I want to revisit.
