And, that’s a wrap!
Just like that, we’ve already reached the end of January. I spent the better part of the month doing a minor reset of my studio. During the last few months of 2025, it got a bit crazy (and messy) with a handful of holiday art gift projects as well as turned into a drop zone for boxes, incoming deliveries, mail and the occasional item that needs be relocated elsewhere in our home. Now that the mail is sorted, the boxes cut and recycled, and wayward items stored properly, it’s time to get crackin’!
First things first
Last year, I began posting Weekly 5 updates – a round-up of news, discoveries, and music playlist for each week. These posts continued into mid-August, and then I lost steam. I realized I was spending too much time curating content for weekly posts, and not enough time for myself to create. Then birthdays, anniversaries and the holiday season came along; I fell off the wagon – both in creativity and keeping my site updated. This isn’t the first time – and likely not the last – this has happened.
From here, I’m changing the Weekly 5 to a monthly Studio Report. The format will be similar and include a mix of creative and personal updates, and whatever else that comes along that I’d like to share. Of course there will still be a playlist for the month, as there are always new and old songs that grab my attention!
Best thing that happened in my world this month
We hosted a dinner with a group of long-time friends, most of whom I’ve known since my high school and early college days. We usually see each other only at large holiday parties or events; it was nice to have a more intimate get-together, catch up, and be able to visit the entire time.

STUDIO REPORT is a round-up the past month’s highlights in my world! Given the chaotic times we are living in – and with more than plenty of places to debate & discuss – I choose to focus on finding positive things revolving around art, good things, and even a favorite random playlist.
